Before Intravenous Anesthesia Sedation

  • It is vital that you have Nothing To Eat or Drink for eight (8) hours prior to your anesthesia. You must have a completely empty stomach. To disregard this may be life threatening! NOTE: If directed by Dr. Snyder, sips of water may be used to take medications.
  • A responsible adult must accompany you to our office, remain in the office during the procedure, and drive you home and stay with you until you have recovered sufficiently to care for yourself (approximately 24 hours).
  • Do not drink any alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to and 24 hours after your surgery.
  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Short sleeves are preferred.
  • No lipstick or nail polish.
  • If you have any medical history (heart problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, take medications on a routine basis, etc…) you will be given specific instructions to follow during your consultation.
